Odelia here with Percolations #87.
Sometimes they call it impulsiveness. Other times it’s being smart and brave.
Either way, in moments where you're about to do something dangerous or significant,1 there’s a moment of commitment before which you’re really unsure and scared of action — and after which you become paralyzed by overanalyzation and fear.
In that one moment, however, there’s clarity, decisiveness, and a neat sort of courage (bravado, more like) that surges through you and you’re ready to give 110% to whatever it is.
I like experiencing — and winning — those half-seconds.
There was a moment earlier today where I could choose to climb/slide down a steep dirt path down the side of a hill, or take the long way around on paved, even asphalt.
As I gripped a spindly little sapling (after having already slipped a couple feet downwards), I looked down and thought: “That looks fun. You might get hurt, but if you chicken out, in less than an hour you’d regret not going down right now.”
So down I went. Messed up my outfit for the rest of the day, but it was FUN.
At the bottom, I did my best to make myself look presentable again (dirt and sweat get along too well sometimes), and continued on my way.
Moral of the flash-story?
It’s good to be thoughtful and careful with things from time to time.
But don’t be so hesitant you miss making a decision (or a move) altogether.
(I feel like I've said this before, somewhere to someone — but it was my first time going down that hill, that’s for sure!)
That’s it for today. Lots of other thoughts brewing, but not ready for percolation yet. ;)

Life notes
Finally visited the cliffs closest to home. So epic-looking!
Climbing (last week) was fun. I shall keep exploring this. :)
Define these however you like.
